Diana Montoya - Pre-Kindergarten
Diana Montoya is the Pre-K teacher at St. Therese School. She
graduated from Eastern New Mexico University with a Bachelor’s degree
in Elementary Education. She recently returned to school at the
University of New Mexico to work on her Master’s degree in Early
Childhood Education. Mrs. Montoya joined the staff at St. Therese
School in May 2005. She lives in Rio Rancho with her husband and
daughter. Her goal is to help build and early learning center with her
fellow early childhood educator at St. Therese School. |

Toni Smith - First Grade Toni
Smith is the first grade teacher at St. Therese School. Mrs. Smith and
her husband moved back to her home city of Albuquerque in 2001. She
took the opportunity to pursue her dream and earned her Master of Arts
Degree in Education with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education from
the University of New Mexico in 2002. She believes in active, hands-on
learning and is often seen wearing funny hats to engage her students
in a lesson. Mrs. Smith has two grandsons whom she says never cease to
amaze her. She looks forward to watching her students grow in
strength, wisdom and knowledge of the Lord. |

Susan Peterson - Second Grade
Susan Peterson is the second grade teacher at St. Therese School. She
received her Bachelors Degree from Bucknell University and her Post –
Bac Degree in Education from the University of New Mexico. She and her
husband reside in Cubero with their two daughters (Julie – 8th grade
and Holly – 5th grade) and their son, Luke (18 months). Mrs. Peterson
joined the St. Therese School community in August, 2006 after teaching
7 years at St. Joseph Mission School in San Fidel. Her hobbies include
reading, skiing, drama/music, swimming, hiking, and solving Sudoku
puzzles. |

Rebecca Maestas-Sanchez - Third Grade
Rebecca will be receiving her BA in
December 2007 from NMHU-Rio Rancho. After living from LA to Washington
DC, she, her husband and four children have returned to her hometown
of Bernalillo. Rebecca was an operating room scrub for 7 years and a
stay at home mom for 15 years before discovering the call to teach
formally. She is passionate about instilling a love of inquiry and
learning in her 3rd graders. |

Tapia - Fourth Grade Kimberly
Tapia is a fourth grade teacher at St. Therese School. She received
her degree in Education in 2002 from the College of Santa Fe. She also
has a business degree which she received from the College of Santa Fe
as well. She is married and has three young children. Her family means
everything to her. Kimberly Tapia has been at St. Therese since August
of 2003. Her personal goal is to obtain a Level II Licensure and a
Masters Degree to better serve your children. |
